What is Partners in Training?

Partners in Training is a group of runners and walkers we are recruiting to complete the Mercedes Marathon or half-marathon. They can finish the whole marathon (26.2 miles), the half marathon (13.1 miles), or participate on a relay team (2 3-mile legs, 2 6-mile legs, and 1 8 mile leg.) Each Partner in Training runs or walks in honor or memory of a Bell Center for Early Intervention child, past or presently in the program. Each Partner is asked to raise a minimum of $1,310 for the Bell Center in that child’s name.

In return for participating in the Partners in Training Program:

We will provide:
• Assistance in training (i.e. – weekly training runs with coaches)
• Nutritional expertise and injury prevention training
• Assistance with fundraising
• Fun monthly meetings and socials (including a BBQ where you can meet the child you are running/walking for)
• Registration and registration fee for Race for the Cure, Vulcan Run, and 10-mile run hosted by Trak Shak
• Great prizes for top money raisers

Who can be a Partner in Training?

Anybody! You do not have to be an elite athlete or runner to do this! Walking is not only allowed, but a lot of people do it!

Why be a Partner in Training?

Because our program works! It is beneficial for both the marathon participant and our Bell Center children. The personal and spiritual fulfillment of accomplishing something you never dreamed you could do, plus getting the mind and the body in shape is reason enough. But couple that with the benefit you bring the Bell Center by raising money on behalf of our precious children, and you have an amazing life experience!
